The PPEA-UFOP participates in calls for proposals to select international students interested in pursuing a full master's degree in Brazil. Some opportunities are listed below; please pay attention to the information and deadlines:
1) GCUB Mobility Call for Proposals:
The International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities – GCUB is pleased to announce the Call for Applications for the Fifth Edition of the GCUB International Mobility Program – GCUB-Mob. The GCUB International Mobility Program – GCUB-Mob is promoted by GCUB with the support of the Guimarães Rosa Institute of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs – IGR-MRE, the Organization of American States – OAS, the National Council of State Research Funding Agencies – CONFAP, the Union of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean – UDUALC; and the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie – AUF.
The objective of the Program is to contribute to the development of high-achieving students from all five continents, as well as to promote university internationalization and strengthen international cooperation between Brazilian universities and counterpart institutions in other countries. In this edition, 539 Master’s and 350 Doctoral scholarships will be offered by 62 Brazilian universities that are members of GCUB. The academic programs are scheduled to commence in 2027.
Interested applicants may submit their applications starting May 25, 2026. Applications will close at 11:59 p.m. (BRT) on July 06, 2026.

2) Move Africa Call for Proposals
Academic cooperation between Brazil and Africa gained a new instrument for international partnership this Monday (25), with the launch of the CAPES Move Africa program. The initiative of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES/MEC) was announced during the opening of the 1st Brazil-Africa Rectors Forum in Brasília.
The program foresees the initial offering of 2,600 postgraduate scholarships for African students to carry out part of their training in Brazilian teaching and research institutions. 1,600 sandwich master's scholarships and 1,000 sandwich doctoral scholarships will be available, with a total investment of R$ 47.4 million.
The scholarships will cover internships of two to six months for master's degrees and four to ten months for doctoral degrees.
Selected students will receive a monthly stipend, travel allowance, settling-in allowance, and health insurance. The program also provides financial support for Brazilian researchers responsible for the academic co-supervision of the students.
